It's been less than two years since Lady Gaga released ARTPOP but, let's be real, it feels like it's been a lot longer.

While ARTPOP was not the flop Katy Cats would have you believe, it definitely didn't live up to expectations. Instead of rushing a follow-up, however, Gaga shifted her focus to other projects. In 2014, she released a duet album with Tony Bennett and, more recently, she began a multi-episode arc as the vampy, vampiric Elizabeth on American Horror Story: Hotel.

After a 23-month break from the pop scene, however, Stefani Germanotta finally seems ready to reclaim her crown. In just the last few weeks, she's released two new songs and begun talking about her fifth album. Billboard recently named her Woman Of The Year. Things, it would seem, are a happening.
