Bindi’s father, Steve, died in 2006.
Bindi Irwin, the daughter of famed "crocodile hunter" Steve Irwin, will have to legally prove her father is deceased in order to get her Dancing With the Stars contract approved.
As Bindi is 17 years old, she is a minor and as such requires the approval of both guardians to work. Her mother, Terri Irwin, has signed the contract giving up all rights to any money her daughter earns.

In the contract, Bindi is set to earn at least $125,000, with more money guaranteed as she progresses further through the competition. She has already made it to Week 8 of Dancing With the Stars, bringing her total earnings to $230,000.
None of this money will be made exclusively available to her, though, unless the contract is sorted out and approved.
