30 Rock star Tracy Morgan was rushed to the hospital around 1 a.m. Saturday morning after he was involved in a six-car accident that left his limo bus overturned, authorities said. The 45-year-old remained in critical condition late Saturday morning, a spokesperson for Morgan confirmed to BuzzFeed.
Morgan was returning from a tour date in Delaware, where he had been performing stand-up. The collision took place on the New Jersey Turnpike and involved Morgan's limo bus, an SUV, two tractor-trailers, and two cars. At least one person was killed in the crash.
Police identified the man who was killed as James McNair, 63, of Peekskill, N.Y., who was was riding in Morgan's limo bus.
"The limo bus is the only vehicle that overturned," said Sgt. Gregory Williams of the New Jersey State Police. "Looks like one of the tractor-trailers may have rear-ended that limo bus, but that's preliminary at this time."
The former Saturday Night Live actor was flown by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he is still in the Intensive Care Unit, NJ.com reports. Three others were also rushed to the hospital; as of press time, one patient is in fair condition, while the other two are in critical condition.
In a statement released Saturday, Morgan's representative, Lewis Kay, wrote: "Tracy remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. ... His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care. We don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today."
A state police investigation has found that a tractor trailer caused the crash when it approached slow-moving traffic.
Morgan is about to be a father for the fourth time with 26-year-old girlfriend Megan Wollover, whom he had a baby with last July.
Morgan's overturned limo bus can be seen in a video on NBC10.
