Annie Leibovitz photographed Jenner in her Malibu home for the magazine's July issue. Jenner was also interviewed by sports writer Buzz Bissinger for the cover story.
"If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,'" Jenner told Bissinger.

She continues, "It's not about the fanfare. It's not about people cheering in the stadium. It's not about me going in the street and everybody giving me a 'thattaboy, Bruce' pat on the back. This is about your life."
