In a joint statement with Wright, the studio said the split was "amicable" and was "due to differences in their vision of the film."
Ant-Man is still on track to open on July 17, 2015, and as of press time, Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas were still on board to star in the film.
A new director will be announced "shortly," said the statement.
