Admittedly it’s a low bar, but still!
The CW
The Oct. 7 series premiere of The Flash — The CW's adaptation of DC Comics' iconic speedster superhero property — has now become the network's most-watched telecast of all time.
Factoring in Live+7 Day Nielsen ratings, The Flash rose 41% — from 4.79 million, in Live Plus Same Day, to 6.84 million viewers, trumping everything that has aired on the network since its Sept. 2006 launch, according to a network press release.
The combination of excellent reviews, eye-catching special effects, and a jovial tone that breaks from the tortured superhero pop culture has fawned over in recent years may help to explain why The Flash — a spin-off of The CW's popular Arrow — was able to sprint to this record-breaking feat.
